I found out something interesting a few days ago. A Ryan homeowner told me that their storage areas in their FROG and in their attic spaces are sealed shut and dont have a door. They say its like a piece of drywall. Why would Ryan homes do this? We are told its a storage space so I fully expect it to be easily accessible. With a door! This may be something you want to ask about. I will keep you posted on what my PM says. Meanwhile....the house seems to have stalled. There are two others that were at the same point as mine last week which were totally framed when I saw them two days ago. My foundation is done. I guess my framing will be next. :-)
The wood for your house was delivered this morning! The two houses behind ours are completely framed now. It's a long waiting period between the footers being poured, the foundation being done and the framing because the city has do inspections and everything.
ReplyDeleteAs for the attic storage, ours is a door in the ceiling in one of the bedrooms. We didn't upgrade to get the pull down stairs, so you have to have a ladder.
That great! The houses around ours are going up quick! Hopefully ours does too, so that you guys wont have to listen to a crazy amount of noise for too long! Im hoping they sell the lot next to mine soon so that the big noises will be over with before we move in/. =) Also, we have a finished attic, with carpet, HVAC and stuff. There is a stair case. The area in the bonus room is more of what concerns me. We were told its storage. But one neighbor told me its glued shut. That's not cool!
DeleteOhhhh. We were told we would have that attic storage (the dwarf doors) but then when we did our walk through, we learned that our particular elevation did not have that storage. I was pretty bummed about that. I wonder if it's truly glued shut, or if the draft in the attic is preventing them from opening it? We had the opposite problem last week, the draft caused the attic door in the bedroom to blow up into the attic! Super weird.
DeleteThe 2 houses behind us look like they're getting their electric and plumbing in, so it will be pretty quiet until they start adding the siding.
We have access to our attic in bedroom 2 and in the garage (which is typically in the bonus room). We cannot use our attic for storage as we didn't feel the need it pay extra for that (which is ridiculous btw)!
ReplyDeleteCan you add wood to the floor and then use it? Is your access in the ceiling? And you are right, it should be included. The amount of extra upgrades is crazy.
